Música After All do Black Sabbath do período em Ronnie James Dio foi o vocalista. Em meados dos anos 70 foi chamado para cantar no Rainbow de Ritchie Blackmore (ex-Deep Purple), onde gravou quatro álbuns.
Após deixar o Rainbow, foi convidado pelo guitarrista Tony Iommi para ocupar o posto de vocalista no Black Sabbath, permanecendo com a banda até 1983.
