"Summer Wind" written by Heinz Meier and Johnny Mercer was recorded by Frank Sinatra with Nelson Riddle arranging and conducting on May 16, 1966 and reached number 25 on the Billboard pop singles chart and number 1 on the Easy Listening chart. It was included in his Reprise album, Strangers in the Night, which won Grammys for Record of the Year and Best Male Vocal Performance for the title track. This one is for Bobbie. In all of my long life (18 years of it in broadcasting) I've never heard a singer, a song, an orchestra and an arrangement so perfectly performed as this one. Talk about fitting like a glove... simply unbeatable perfection.

My Mom played Frank's music all the time & this song was her favorite. I like this song, I heard it enough

Something really beautiful and sad about this, especially the opening. Makes me wanna cry sometimes but what can I say. It's perfectly performed. :)

It shows that Frank still had the fine voice when this was recorded (1966). Compare this to the later version with Julio Iglesias on the Duets album (1993).
