I like Pet Supplies Plus because they’ll price match anywhere, including Amazon, so you can definitely save a decent amount in there.

The sponge made me cringe but other than that it looked nice I died laughing when the bass boost kicked in.

I didn't know pet supplies plus even sold actual pets, all of the locations near me only sell supplies and feeders. The fact they don't sell a bunch of animals is actually a plus for me because that way I don't get depressed looking at poorly cared for animals every time I need supplies (like if I were to go to petco or petsmart).

I'll agree with you there on customer service, the employees really overall seem more excited about animals and willing to help. It's honestly my go-to store for most pet supplies if I don't purchase them online. I also know that my parents have been buying dog food from them for years because they sell a lot of high quality dog foods. Overall it's just my preferred chain pet store.

The flual aquarium LED lights are the best! They're pretty waterproof too which is so nice! I have their plant one and it's been the best aquarium light I've ever owned.

When you ever get the chance there is a really small pet store in wentzville called Lynn's pets they have an ok selection

Yeah the newer ones aren’t bad, but there’s one here that’s been around for a few years that’s so so. Like their reptile rack is in shambles (they can’t get crested geckos or corn snakes because they’ll escape) but for some reason their corporate office won’t fix or replace it.

And yeah, unfortunately anyone can get a job at most pet stores and people actually knowledgeable with reptiles or inverts is extremely rare, at least that’s my experience. One of our snakes is a strict fish and lizard eater so we bought feeders from them once and one of the employees stopped helping us because she found out we were getting an anole to feed our snake and refused to help us, which kind of annoyed me but it’s whatever. I went back the next week for another one and since the green anoles were on sale, I specifically told them I needed one of them, the other two lizards they were cohabing with them in the tank were regular price. I sat and watched them pick apart an enclosure with at least 5 of these things until they found me a green lizard. I just kind of left shaking my head and now we only buy feeder lizards at expos.
