Flying the Apollo 11 Moon Landing with the Original AGC Code (Apollo Guidance Computer Part 23)
Показать описание
We fly the Apollo 11 landing to a high degree of fidelity, with the simulated LM guided by a real AGC running the original Apollo 11 flight software. Mike has hooked the AGC to a LM simulation from the Orbiter/NASSP program, which is a very accurate simulation. Just as back then, it requires piloting skill and nerves of steel. We fly two landings in this video: the first one is a "nominal" Apollo landing to explain things. The second one is a hair raising Apollo 11 re-enactment landing, with 1202 errors and the actual Apollo astronauts calls from the radio recordings weaved in. Seat back and fly safe.
0:00 Not a game, but the actual Apollo 11 code running on an AGC replica
2:11 Nominal landing
18:35 Apollo 11 actual landing (with air to ground calls)
38:26 Abort lift-off from the Moon
Here is a link to the installation instructions of the unmodified Orbiter/NASSP software, which flies using an AGC emulation instead of real AGC hardware as shown here:
