Dear Roscoe: I'm a Portuguese man who's been listening to Dimash for a long time, so I suggest you listen to: Ave Maria, We Are The One, Across Endless Dimentions, and, finally, with Aida Garifulina and Lara Fabian Ti Amo Cosi. Cheers.

👉 Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021(in his studio). Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live.
In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs:
* S.O.S. -
* Samaltau –

The sad true story of this song... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling.

The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter.
Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese.
Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to him. He wrote many wonderful melodies – you should check it out:
Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide –

Dimash's Japan Fan Club asked the famous Japanese author of 'Ikanaide' Goro Matsui about his emotions at Dimash performance. It's one of his favorite songs:
"… I heard Dimash singing "Ikanaide" by accident. The first thing that impressed me was his crystal clear tone and expressive voice. I heard other Asian artists perform the song many times, but despite their magnificent vocal skills, none seemed to capture the true meaning of the original lyrics. In the chorus of the song, the line "Ah, Ikanaide" is repeated several times. And although these are the same words, each line has a different meaning. And it seems to me that Dimash felt it. "

In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn:

The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently. Both are based on a same true story.
The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably
The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking.

I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum.
I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery.

* The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong -
This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong.
* Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong -
* Other version of Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong -
(Thanks to all Dears who helped to complete the information)

This was especially for the Tokyo Jazz Festival. That year they were honoring Koji Tamaki the composer of this song. Other performers had sung this song for him but not in Japanese. Dimash was the only one to sing it in Japanese. Tamaki thought that it was special. Dimash usually sings it in Chinese. Remember Dimash only speaks Kazakh and Russian and he’s been doing pretty good in English these days. When he does a concert in another country, he tries hard to sing a song in their language. He can sing in many languages but that’s only phonetically. Dimash is a special young man! Many people try to put him in a box but as soon as you close the lid, Dimash comes busting out of the box. He loves music, all kinds of music and he’s still trying to learn as many genres that he can. 😊

Henry! 🤣🤣😂 No doubt the production manager thought just a continuous close up of Dimash's face might be a bit boring! And don't forget; with Dimash having micro-oversight of every element of his work before it's released - Henry might BE Dimash!! 🙃😂🙃🤣 Actually, some of 'Henry's' wide shots are useful. Not only can we observe how Dimash centres and grounds himself for those belting high notes, but also the way he opens his arms and moves his shoulders back as he engages his diaphragm. { for Voice Nerds this is interesting ). His skilled movement around the microphone is yet another form of Master Class, as he plays with letting it enhance his crescendo's and diminuendo's. So great.
A thing of beauty isn't it. Dimash is a true master of his instrument. Although, if you ask him he will say he's 'still learning'!😵‍💫 👍

3:12 Can you recognize the transform here, from chest voice to breathy voice without any cancelling. This is a master degree skill. I woud love you all you try to make this. Even if you are a professional singer its so hard to do.

They really do get in his face with the camera, you should see the look he shoots the camera man just before the end of Ognie Pietra! It's like if I could punch you right now I would! 🤣
The worst ones for camera angles are Slavic Bazaar, they always put the camera elsewhere just when he's doing his most impressive moments.
How the drone cameras didn't smack him in the head at the Almaty concert i will never know.

Dimash doesn't get as easily "pissed" as you seem to 🤔🤗. The camera work doesn't diminishes or enhances what he puts out. He's a highly evolved being🙏🌍😇. Dimash, the air-bender 🪄🌠🎇🥴😭🔊🎶🎵🎼💥❤️. Thanks for your reaction ❤️
