After years of searching, I have finally discovered a new watercolor sketchbook that rivals even the best of the best. In this video I compare it to Etchr, Canson Montval, Hahnemuhle, Stillman & Birn, Canson XL, and more. How come no one is talking about this highly underrated sketchbook?

Have you found a better watercolor sketchbook? Which one do you prefer? Let me know in the comments, I would love to hear from you!

I found the Kilimanjaro after a long research. It is the best deal out there for 100% cotton. It is made in USA by cheap joes company. And the thing that many people don't know is that not all 100% watercolor paper behaves the same. Cheap joes also have a mix pack of watercolor paper for you to try. I buy them and make my own sketchbooks, but the Kilimanjaro is always the winner. The also have a Black Travel Watercolor with 25 sheets. I like supporting small companies like this instead of big companies like canton that produce really subpar products. You can get away with cheap paint and brushes but the not with paper. It took a while for me to realize that buying cheap paper and not getting any results. I hope this helps someone that is learning just like me. Thanks for putting this out there!

I’m on my 4th Kilimanjaro sketchbook, they are indeed really nice. Kilimanjaro is Cheap Joe’s house brand, so no other vendor has them. It’s good stuff.

I love Kilimanjaro sketchbooks! I have 9 filled so far of varying sizes and a 9 x 12 spiral bound waiting to be filled. I have one handmade sketchbook that my daughter made for me. I gave her a sheet of Saunders Waterford paper and an old painting I had put in my death pile. She made the cover out of the old painting so that sketchbook is my sentimental journey.

Just happened across your video, and I am so happy I did! The Grinch was the laugh I needed today! Thank you for the recommendation and the reviews of the other books, as well.

Wait it has sketching papers And watercolor papers! I'm sold 😩👏🏼
Also the "I loathe you" spoke to me spiritually 😂😂 I still don't have a favorite sketchbook because I like to try different brands everytime I need a new one, but so far Etchr has been great because I also use it for gouache and acrylic ink and wow does this sketchbook take a lot of washes!

“What a treat” is the perfect description of this Kilimanjaro 300lb sketch book.
It feels so special. 💖

I was not expecting the Grinch clips when I clicked on this video but thank you for the laughs! Unfortunately, I'm nowhere close to a Cheap Joes. I'm curious on binding my own tho!

What a nice and clear presentation. I'm so glad I came across your video because I was thinking of buying a Kilimanjaro watercolor book, but hesitated. I'm lucky enough to have a Cheap Joe's in town, so I'll need to go again soon to buy one. I also liked your first page color wheel and the music was an extra bonus!

I’ve never tried Kilimanjaro paper, but I make my own sketchbooks. I have a hole punch for the smooth plastic spiral binding, and I use Fabriano and Arches paper that I buy in the large sheets and cut to the size I want.

I just purchased this sketchbook along with the 10x5" and a 5 pack of 22x30" sheets. I tried a small piece of the full sheet last night and I'm very happy with it. I got mine on sale. I'm happy to see your review. I may stick with this paper for all future purchases.

Oh. My. I knew that I had seen a watercolor sketchbook with regular paper in between the watercolor sheets! I've googled every way which I could think of to no avail. THANK YOU!

Thank you for this video. Your presentation it’s very well done. Your voice does not become abrasive or monotonous and your information is presented in a manner in which a beginning artist can understand.

Interesting thoughts. I enjoyed your comments.
I have used the Killminjaro and can't completely agree with you. While I do like the slip sheet, I found that the colors seemed to react differently. They seemed to be more vibrant, which in many cases is fine, but I couldn't adjust to it.
I still have it, and I will take a more serious look.
I would also disagree somewhat with your assessment of the Etcher book. This would be my first choice. Of the products you reviewed. Strathmore is ok, but I agree it's an ok practice paper. I still weaken and use it because of price, and it is sold everywhere.
The canson products are really really great...for starting fires at the cookout.
If I was to make my own it would be Arches. Knowing the cost I would look closely at single sheets and judishishly plan size. And cut accordingly.
Really enjoyed this.

Thank you for another informative and entertaining video! No wonder no one is talking about it lol, because you can't find it anywhere. :) I am intrigued, will make sure to purchase one when I visit the US or ask my sister to get me one. Have a great weekend! 🌼
