I do not own the rights of any of this. Since the original audiobooks are unavailable to purchase online, this is the only alternative that exists. Arrr

Personal note:
I fell in love with these audiobooks after having watched the movie. The way the author reads is calming, passionate, and expressive. I listen to them before bed to ease myself into a nice sleep. Highly recommend!

I've added these because the Wilcox Family Archives versions have been taken down by some random publishing company. It is unfortunate but that is the world we live in. The rest of the books will be posted soon! I already have them all, just need to edit and upload.

I worked in Islington for 19 years. One day, Douglas was in a small supermarket on Upper Street. I was so surprised to see him, and me being young, I just blurted out something like, ..Oh Mr. Adams, I just wanted to say thank you. All my friends really like your book. It was a long time ago, but he seemed surprised that anyone recognised him. I knew he lived in a tiny back street, more of a mews, about ten minutes up the road, near the Post Office. I'm proud to be able to say that I spoke to him but I slightly regret scaring him. He was tall. Thanks for posting this. I'd forgotten that until now; He was choosing a loaf of bread at the time and wearing a grey Crombie. (coat).

When we were around 10 years old, me and my friend listened to the audiobook version of this. While acting out all the ridiculous scenes assigning each other roles. This brought back those memories, thank you

I'm checking in from 2024, and I am pleased to announce that we here on Earth have evolved to thinking Smart Watches are a neat idea.

I was very lucky to first hear of the original radio series when it came out when I was 7 (53 now so you don't have to work it out) and I've been smitten ever since.

However, I've never listened to this version....this upload is very much appreciated ;)

I'm ancient enough that I heard the first radio adaptation broadcast in 1978. I still have that on cassette tape! Utterly brilliant writing. I also still have my typewritten programme from the stage play at the Rainbow. That was beyond mad, still pretty much dress rehearsal, but plenty of opportunities for hilarious audience participation. My only regret was that after the show I didn't have the budget to buy a circuit board badge that occasionally flashed 42.

I love you Douglas. I don't believe in magic, but if you ARE anywhere rather than nowhere, I hope it's full of puppies, gelato, naked beautiful (people who you would like to be beautiful and naked), and all other good things!

You bring just joy, laughter, wonder, and all good things to literally millions of people, and - just to speak for myself - bring me out of my lowest moods even if i've listened to the book a thousand times over!

RIP or LIP or be in any other way wonderful, you deserve all the best.

I remember when the audiobook on youtube used to be all scrambled up and you had to guide yourself with the comments to figure out what cbapter goes next. I'm so glad you posted these, no one else could read it as well as douglas

Digital watches have gotten a lot more sophisticated. They so conveniently make you unhappy everyday so you can keep a stable mood. 😅
