In the Netherlands if the tag is still on it and you have the receipt they are obligated by law to either give your money back or switch them with something else

Hello just wanna add the EU has a law against fast fashion in which if you wore an item that fell apart/bad quality fabric makes balls etc youre legally entitled to a refund if it happens 1/2 years after purchase!

The dead plants and used toilets at the end caught me off guard😂

I'm French, as long you have the receipt and stickers on it, there is no problem to return.
Law is 7 days in shop or 14 for online orders...

Both are extremes and shouldn’t be the case. Granted she could’ve tried on the shirt but still, if it has the tag on it and doesn’t smell like someone’s body you should be able to return it, and at the least exchange for the right size

Very funny. But the truth is that in France, as in the rest of the EU, retailers are legally mandated to offer refund policies on all* products if they are faulty.

*) Exceptions exist for products where hygiene is a consideration, like underwear.

I've lived in France for years and have easily returned items, with a receipt. At worst, I get an in-store credit.

I've been living in France for 4 years, never had an issue returning anything, from clothes to kitchen items. For example, my pressure cooker had a silicon part in the seal that got damaged after 2 years due to constant use, I wrote to the producer (French) to ask where I could get a replacement for that specific piece and as they could not ship it to me, they refunded me the full amount AFTER 2 years. Love your videos but this one is not accurate in my POV.

In France you can also return wore clothes, as long as the tags are intact

You can return clothes in France, but only if they still have the tag and paiment ticket, and if it was not a clothe in sale.
Other things like electronics, furniture have a mandatory 2 years client protection, so if you stuff is damaged, you can have it be replaced or repair for free.

This video should be called France vs Costco returns!!! 😂 I returned a pair of dress shoes to Macy’s WITH the box and RECEIPT a few days after I bought them. The cologne-laced associate didn’t want to take them and gave me such a hard time about it!! I NEVER went to Macy’s again.

As a former Walmart service desk worker- worn shoes with no box, tags or receipt 😂😂😂 you ain’t getting a return because theres no possible way to scan the item to see if it’s actually ours. I got cussed out A LOT because of our return policy and peoples assumptions that we will return anything 😂😂😂😂

This is my favorite channel! I can't believe how many cultural differences there are between the US and France that I never would have thought about.

I don't want to take anything away from her fun videos, but old-timers like me might remember Art Buchwald. He was an American humorist who lived in Paris for many years as a correspondent for the NYT/Int'l Herald Tribune. This and many other of her themes were covered by Buchwald in his weekly column for American readers. One comes to mind where he compares buying a shirt in Paris, London and Italy! Plus ça change...
