The most irritating thing about lando is that when Lewis was dominating the sport it was all about the car. Now that McLaren has the best car and is “dominating”, it’s “all about the drivers”. The hypocrisy is nauseating.

I feel like Lando has a mixture of two problems. 1. He doesn't exactly use the best words to describe his feelings, I think the idea that McLaren is the "only team with two good drivers" is likely not exactly what he means. Hearing the rest of his statement, it kind of becomes clear, but the way he started off doesn't really line up with the way he ended. 2. I think Lando is learning that having a good car is not the end of it all, you also have to be good IN the car, and that is directly conflicting with a lot of his past sentiments when he was in an absolute dog of a car and getting dusted by the top teams. There's no way for him to convert to reasonable and realistic sentiments now that he's in the best car without being blatantly hypocritical and contradicting his past self, and he's not very thoughtful about HOW he says things before he says them. So they come out like "we're the only team with two good drivers" when what he really means is "we're the only team with two drivers of similar skill levels that are both comfortable in the environment we're in and aren't being thrust into a new world (like Hamilton, or Lawson/Yuki)." If he was a bit more concise with that initial statement, I don't think anyone would've batted an eye. Just my personal opinion.

I would agree with Lando. McLaren are the only top team that hasn't had a driver change for this season so neither has any growing pains to get through. Lewis is still learning, Red Bull's second seat is a revolving door, and Mercedes have a rookie in the second seat.

The one area where they are not stronger (imo) is in the race when it comes to strategy calls. They've been ok so far, but I can see some missteps this season, especially if Lando and Oscar are close in a title fight.

Hamilton is ahead of Charles at the minute so you can't really talk down about him at the minute. He certainly has more to learn but you can't say that he's not a contender for one of the best on the grid at the minute
