Elephant Shrews, also known as Jumping Shrews or Sengis, are tiny Mammals living in Africa. In spite of their name, they are neither an elephant nor are they a shrew! This shy, endangered animal has become the mascot of the incredible Arabuko National Park in Kenya. The income they attract via tourism pays for the education of local children, being part of the African community. A tribute to how small and shy these elephant shrews are is the fact that they were not spotted in Somalia for over 50 years until 2020!

" you really feel like you are in nature", brother, I don't think it gets more nature than that, lol! At least he loves his job.

As humans we always worry about trying to manage wildlife when really we are the species that needs being managed! I love this guy willie, he is so peaceful in his demeaner.❤

Beautiful doc!! Faltered only by youtube not clearing the pixels - so our elders have a more difficult time watching something decent.

When it suddenly cut to the forest-guard getting their AKs and Bolt-action rifles ready with huge ammo clips I was like OMDAZE It's about to go DOWN!! Didn't expect that from a doc about the humble elephant shrew!

How can we help these children who have been affected by the lack of tourism? I would like to know how to help them continue their education even when tourist don't come visit. Bless them for not destroying the forest.

This is what the US made this country. A poor starving country.

Inhuman greed will be the death of humanity, unless humans can learn to live with the Planet & not take take take.

I just love how the people in these little forest villages say that the animals are a problem and how they come and destroy their property when the animals were there first and they are the ones who came in and destroyed their homes and habitat. The animals are only doing what they've been doing for years and when people come and take what little forest they have left what do you think they're going to do..they are going to go to the only source they have left and that's the villagers farms. They are hungry and they just want to eat. It's the people that are the problem not the animals of the forest.
