Gain MASSIVE Forehand Control (4 Awesome Tips)

Rotate your body toward the net to bring the racket to contact (be sure non-hitting arm lifts to facilitate hip turn)

Keep strings facing forward during contact for as long as possible (this is called a hitting zone)

Extend your racket up and out after contact (feel like you’re handing your racket to the opponent)

Listen to your wrist watch during the finish to prevent swinging across your body (players who swing across are inaccurate and inconsistent

Again you have nailed this. A lot of coaches say the same thing, but not descriptive enough

One of the most mechanically perfect forehands in tennis. Important to note that Verdasco dramatically adjusts his wrist angle as the racket drops into the slot.

The extent and clarity of Verdasco's extension in this video is breathtaking. It comes from scapular abduction, I believe... Would you consider talking more specifically about what's required biomechanically in extension in the tennis forehand?

Coach great as always, but can you elaborate more on the keep your racquet facing hour target for as long as possible, how can we do this?

I see you talk about the importance of non hitting hand in every forehand video you post and I believe this is where I need improvement coz my non hitting hand goes to my hips instead of catching the racket after the shot. Do you have any drill that you recommend to get this improved…?

Great stuff, I love the singlehanded backhand. That said mine SUCKS. Racquet extension through and past the hitting zone helps so much, it's the only reason I don't use 2 handed backhand. I really need to concentrate on raising none hitting hand, great point. I'm going to write down a check list for each shot for quick reference when I know something is wrong. Last night my serve was way off took a good few games before realizing I hadn't brought my birthday hat. (I know eh and how many times have you pounded the table on that?) I was getting very lazy in our first heat wave of the season but it points out where a checklist could really come in handy🤔

This is a great lesson! Why does he get the top spin from? Verdasco has one of the best form.

The leading shoulder is in front of the none dominant one! I remember you replied to one of my comments that you do not teach the leading shoulder in front!

His not hitting hand never drops below his waist. I’m coming from baseball and his swing is like hitting a inside cutter pitch. Nice 👍🏾

Ladies at the back of image agree with you. 😅😉

Fantastic tips. I take my left hand off the racket way too early in the coil preperation which prevents full coil of torso. Then my left arm too often turns into a lump of dead meat when I rotate into the shot, inhibiting the uncoil.

Long hitting zone as you call it, means he aims at left side if the court 😉👍
