Take a spin in a Bell 206 JetRanger helicopter with me. We go over the main controls of a helicopter and why learning to fly one can be a little tricky.

Thanks to AirOcean for the use of your aircraft in this video.

I’m a helicopter instructor and oil rig pilot in the Gulf of Mexico....I fly jet rangers and the long video, very well detailed and easy to follow. I’d recommend this to anyone that’s going to fly the 206 series...Great job!

Nick, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider doing more aircraft reviews. This kind of content is unique on YT and so damn badass!

I’ve been flying x-plane fixed wing and helos for years and always selected the option to have the engines running at the start. I recently purchased a Bell 407 for my sim and actually used the checklist to start it and shut it down. I am now addicted to flying it and this video has given me so much knowledge now on what the instruments should be reading and why. As a retired full time fighter jet electrician with the Air Guard, I did have the basics of flying and instrumentation and flew a few times in Cessnas, but this video is truly amazing. Thanks so much.

I dreamed of learning to fly a helicopter until an on-duty firefighting injury left me with a vestibular disorder. Playing video games mess with my head enough to disorient my balance. So watching helicopter flight videos are just about as close as I can get these days. To date, his was one of the best videos I've seen on YouTube. Rotating around the man standing on the ground was my favorite part. That was a nice landing as well.

Just found your channel. I’m a fixed wing pilot and love anytime in the air. Thanks for bringing us along. I hovered a jet ranger when I was a young pilot. Made me feel all thumbs/clumsy and gave me a lot of respect for the chopper pilots.

An excellent run down of a common helo. This is perfect for us wannabes who cannot achieve pilot status, really is wonderful to see it up close. Bravo.

Totally great Helicopter review and flight lesson. I just started looking at helicopter video's, and this one was the most instructive yet. I was a crew chief on a UH-1 gunship in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968, loved the flying just not the location.

Nick, as others have stated, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE consider more aircraft reviews. This is an excellent review and for people like myself who have always wanted to fly or learn to fly but have health issues that prevents them from doing so, this type of video allows people to live and dream through you video to experience things they may never get the opportunity to do. Thank you for such a wonderful, awesome, learning video! Absolutely FANTASTIC!

Seriously This is the first video I watched on a Helicopter walk around. I wanted to compare it to the drone stuff I am learning. You did an outstanding job on the break down to the point of where now I want a helicopter licence

Awesome video Nick! It was really fascinating to watch! That start-up sequence at 23:30 is pretty epic! And it's so awesome to see you flying around, it must feel amazing!

I watched every minute of this video and loved it. This is the best video I've ever watched on YouTube and I've watched thousands. It was educational, engaging and real! (Real is hard to source now a days). I felt like it was my first day at helicopter school, then field trip, all in the same day. Amazing! So engaged that I was nervous at take off and those hovering around the airport moments. I felt like I just had my first ride in a helicopter. Thanks!

Very nice informative video, great instruction and great explanation of what and how everything works. As an old fixed wing commercial pilot I found it very informative.

This is exactly like when I taught my daughter how to drive stick. Okay, it is in no way similar. Very nicely done video, and flight, you truly captured the realism. Thanks.

I've got hundreds of hours in the Army version, the OH-58. The sounds really brought back some memories. Well done.

I remember a friend in junior high whose father owned a Jet Ranger III the mid-80s. They were fueled with JP3 or JP4 at that time. His stretched long range version was a very nice helicopter. Yours is too. Thanks for posting!
