I felt the same way about the Phaze3. Too strong of a core to play the track, too weak of a cover to move inside, little too quick/ sharp off friction even when I think it’s matched up.
Exact opposite with the AxP!! I can play straighter, and the core doesn’t take over, get deeper and it can recover and finish, friction only enhances my area.
Drilled it 5x20. This ball doesn’t quite roll like a pearl for me and I like it that way.

Hey Luke, I’m a 2 hander looking to build a 3 ball arsenal for league around my Wild Streak. I know it’s a loaded question but where should I start looking?

Wow my friend and I were pretty sure we were the only ones who didn't like the Axiom Pearl but surprised to see that you didn't match up either with it too Luke lol. To our eyes it's a Pearl that goes really forward off the end of the pattern and it just creates angle issues by being clean and angular: Too clean to bowl straighter and blend a pattern out but also too forward to really open up too much which we believe makes it rather niche. Much prefer the Trend & Idol Pearl as far as symmetrical Pearls go as they round themselves out better so we feel we can manipulate those balls better than the Axiom Pearl.

I had a similar experience with my Phaze III to your axiom. I feel like the ball was close to being good for me but it was actually too strong of a layout so after it was broken in it wanted a bigger angle similar to what I saw in your review but as soon as I gave it more angle it would just lose all its energy and die. Tried it on multiple conditions at multiple places with multiple surfaces and nothing looked good, so I just got rid of it

Could it be a lefty thing Luke? Do you know other lefties this ball looks good for? You always say the left side of the lane plays differently.

Do layouts even matter on syms? It just doesn’t match up for you left handed and that’s okay 👍🏼
