How To Grow Lettuce In Your Bedroom ( WEIRD )

I tested out the Deep Water Culture Method to see how well I could grow veggies indoors, Using a new LED grow light. Might be a little weird to be growing in my bedroom but im strapped for space and its interesting to grow hydroponics is strange situations. DWC is very compact and works great in almost any situation.

The brown sediment is almost certainly nutrients falling out of solution; possibly iron, going by the colour, and the lack of a vivid green up in your lettuce. The black splotches on your leaves is necrosis, a common symptom of calcium deficiency. For a first stab at DWC I would judge this as a success.

Great to see your face (love the glasses too). The growth of the lettuce leaves are amazing. Great leaves to use for Lettuce Sandwiches and Lettuce Burritos! The swiss chard is usually used in Mediterranean cooking and the stalk is used separately from the leaf. It all looks freshly yummy, nicely done!

Enjoyed the video! Glad you gave Chard a try, its one of my favorites. One way of eating swiss chard is by gently sauteing with garlic, salt&pepper to taste, a little ginger powder and italian herbs, then it then adding 3 eggs to make an omelet out of it.

I really liked how honest you were about how it tasted, you're right that a lot of people hype up how good their grown foods taste but sometimes its just, okay and that's just fine. Keep up the good work!

My mouth was watering for a huge salad after seeing that beautiful, healthy, green lettuce! Have you or are you going to attempt any other veggies? I've read some veggies grow from pieces of it's own stalk such as lettuce, celery, & maybe a few others? I'm not sure what else. But was just curious if someone could actually grow a small garden in this manner?? I mean how flippin cool would that be? Awesome video! Quickly becoming one of your biggest fans!! I love your honesty and that you have no fear in trying new things, even if things don't go as planned. Happens to the best of us.. I think your videos are unique, so thank you for sharing your tips.

Also for future reference give them nutrients in the water and add more fresh water every 2 or 3 weeks as remember you consume them so the more nutritious they are the better they are for you. The deposits at the bottom is iron. They seem to be lacking calcium with not been bright green.

They grew taller because they were reaching for where the grow light was. Also when you harvest if you cut all the leaves off and leave them they will grow more leaves which you can harvest again!

Once you harvested the leafs will it keep growing new leafs?

You have to get some ph up and down .. Make sure it's in the yellow green zone. Good job tho..

You cant run different species in the same container. One will eat more than the other.. nice work tho
