Eagle eyes pickaxe - Restoration

In this video I am restoring old Rusty pickaxe. This pickaxe is very well made. I love the design of this pickaxe.

I started the Pickaxe restoration project by removing the rust from the Pickaxe. I left the Pickaxe in vinegar for 24 hours. After 24 hours, all the rust had come off the Pickaxe. Cleaned up the marks from the pickaxe with a file. I sanded 120 grit with angle grinder to remove the file marks from the pickaxe. After that I have started hand sanding in which I sanded with 220 grit, 320 grit, 400 grit and 100 grit. Then buffed the picaxe.

I used acacia wood to make the handle of the pickaxe. This wood is very hard and strong. I have designed something on the handle. And then I started hand sanding the wood. 120 grit 220 grit 320 grit 400 grit hand sanding. Used Lacquer to polish the handle.

I really enjoyed working on this project though.
