Hats off to you for acknowledging the pending updates and giving Nokia a chance to send them out before making a "this phone is trash" review. While it may not live up to Nokia's claims I respect your patience. On the subject of photo quality, the color reproduction from this phone is probably the best I've ever seen. So much so that we've gotten so used to HDR processing and saturated colors that some reviewers just edit the photos to look like other phones interpretations of processing anyway. I'll be around for the full review.

The colour reproduction of Nokia 9 is absolutely fascinating - an important point about any good camera. And the RAW images are the best seemingly ready to frequently make the users uninterested in any editing! Indeed, the smartphone world is about to find out the new photography king, especially for taking still images.

What I noticed from the Nokia 9 is, sometimes, the RAW file looks better.

Honestly, I prefer the unedited output from the phone in 90% of the side by side comparisons in this video. Almost everything about the photos in RAW form is so appealing to me: the colours, the contrast, THE DETAILS (!)... and the surround sound in the video is pretty good too.

This would be a pretty epic upgrade from my current Nokia 3- if only I could afford it. 🤦‍♂️

I know this doesn't necessarily pertain to the video about the Nokia 9 however I have to say that after following you for years and loving all the content that you put up one of my favorite things about watching your videos is that you are here in Southern California in the same area that I live in. I can't help but laugh when you do things or show parts of San Dimas! Funny enough I was at the arboretum just two days ago with some of my siblings! Keep up the phenomenal work!

Best review of the Nokia 9 PV so far. Presented the phone's camera for what it was made for - photography enthusiast. I have two Nikon DSLRs and I am seriously considering this phone for snapping up candid shots on the go.

I seem to prefer the raw version (which looks more natural to me) over your edited photos but since i'm not at the subject scene so unable to comment on how things looked in real life when the photos were taken, i suppose i just have to trust your judgement that the edited version is the more accurate recollection of what the actual scene was i.e. if the actual scene was dull i'll expect that there's no editing to brighten things up etc. in other words, the camera should be able to accurately reproduce whatever the actual scene was..dull should remain dull, bright should remain bright, the 'red' should correspond to the 'same red' so on ?
