I don't like to be pedantic but I did notice a few mistakes in the book. One that springs to mind is it says the Western version of Miracle Warriors didn't come with a map, when it did.

As a JRPG lover this is definitely up my alley 😍

As someone who went to grad school for writing and book design, I'm damn near drooling at the sight of that tome. What a gorgeous book.

A Cannot Be Tamed video is a great way to start the day. Thanks Pam.

Great video, I'm definitely considering buying this book. JRPGs were part of my childhood in the 90s, but coming from a developing country, games weren't widely available as in other parts of the world. This book seems a great guide to check out what I missed (and maybe make up for lost time).

I also just want to point out that the CRPG Book (not the JRPG, the CRPG) is available for free at the author's website, in case people don't have the money to buy it or is out of print. On the other hand, 100% of the author's profit selling the physical version goes to a Brazilian charity (and you get a beautiful book to display in your gaming library).

I've considering getting The Art of Point-and-Click Adventure Games
before, as it's been one of my favourite genres since playing Maniac Mansion on a C64 as a kid in the 90s. With Christmas coming up, maybe now's the time.

I'm from the UK and I've pretty much got every book from Bitmap Books and Read Only Memory - both are amazing companies and there are lots of glossy tomes that are amazingly produced! They are what you'd call 'coffee table' books. Your channel is amazing by the way, love your videos and your fave videogame genres! 👍🏻

I get so invested in some jrpgs that sometimes I don´t finish the game so I don´t have to say goodbye to the characters, sounds silly but I hope I´m not the only one hehe

This is great! I wasn't aware this was available and had to grab it. The history of the genre is fascinating.

Ken Williams wrote a book about the behind-the-scenes story of Sierra On-Line. It's called _Not All Fairy Tales Have Happy Endings._

I'm so excited 😻. I accidentally just found one last copy on the Net and immediately bought it 😸.

I saved it to my shopping list...Hopefully, it'll still be available when I have the spare money! I love that they include the PDF, too.
Thanks for the review, Pam. You should review books more often, IMO. Nice change of pace while still being on topic.

Looks Awesome. I just wish there was a PDF only option. I do not have room to store such a tome.

Informative, articulate. Good to know this book even exists O.o Been a fan of Rpg's since childhood.

Interesting to see the Final Fantasy page, and then the first Final Fantasy they have a feature page for is FF VII.

Need to buy it. Damn. A lot of info seems to be missing but the fact that they tried to give info on more obscure rpgs and such is amazing. A good table top/collector grade book.

I saw that you posted this last night while I was at work, but it's sold out already :*(. Thanks for posting this, I hope they do a third print run. Also 4:58 is what sold me
