Overexposure / Not diversified - you end up getting over engaged on your one or two stock ideas and it becomes an all or nothing play for them.
Investing based on tips - by all means get ideas from other people but make your own research as well.
Holding onto losers / taking profits too soon - we do this in trading as well as in investing. As human being we tend to hold the losing trades hoping they will recover - but we need to flip this upside down. Holding the winners as long as we can while cutting the losers.
Catching a falling knife / Not buying highs - investors buy into a falling stock thinking it will recover but it goes lower and lower.
Too much leverage - this happens in trading as well - people taking too much margin / leverage - you are in too big a position size in your portfolio. Of course when you are right you can make a lot of money but this also works against you.
