In this video I recap the log lift from the 2016 Arnold Strongman Classic. The Austrian Oak was the event I was most disappointed in with regards to my placing and performance. I'll get into that and how I hope to address this for the future. You will also get to see some of training clips from sessions leading up to the Arnold and some clips from the event itself.

Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Also a big thanks to all of you guys for leaving your comments and smashing that like button for me. More and more subscribers keep coming and it really helps.

Thanks again and look forward to a Cyr recap video coming soon!

Beyond a shadow of a doubt Brian Shaw is my most respected lifter. He sits there telling us how he did badly, doesn't make excuses. Strongmen and Powerlifters as a community are the best of the best in the "fitness" community, humble, down to earth and not a bunch of tossers. I met Eddie Hall a few years ago and at first glance was intimidated, I was a small guy only getting into lifting at the time and he made me feel 10 foot tall. Friendly and chatty and really made me feel better about being so small next to one of the strongest men on the planet.
Brian just seemed to have an off couple days at the Arnold this year, but he didn't get mad or didn't blame anyone.

Brian I am truly inspired by you and all of your work. It is on my bucket list to meet you, I aspire to be a competition lifter myself so I'd love to meet you.

Love the videos Brian, thanks for keeping us up to date on you and not making excuses. You're a such a humble dude. And I also want to know what kind of mouth guard that is lol I have two fake front teeth and I'm afraid I'm going to break them with a normal mouth guard.

Brian, maybe you weren't that stable simply because you had injured your hamstring on the deadlift earlier? But if you think it was just the lights, maybe some of your training can be in front of some spotlights (or car headlights) so that you get used to it?

Hey Brian, it is obvious that you and Big Z are the 2 best strongmen in the world. What are your thoughts about him?

Takes a true champion to be able to criticize himself. no need to beat yourself up over this though. overhead presses are one of the hardest ( in my opinion ) for taller people. I am not quite your height but find overhead presses very difficult. I am sure a slight technique change is all that is needed. keep fighting champ.

I think it's time to call up Slater's and get one of the actual wood logs for your gym. Practice with the equipment you'll be using on the big day. Those metal logs although the same weight don't have the length and balance issues the wood logs seem to have.

at least you deadlifted 1021 as a 6'8 human and lifted a 555 stone. Not to forget the 300lbs which you crushed.
