I love how even though there's moral ambiguity, you still sense that Andross is the true villain.

The way he talks about 500, 000 dead civilians, he doesn't just sound casual, almost smug.

I really like this take on Andross. He's undeniably evil and unrepentantly so, _but_ you can still see that somewhat sympathetic side to him, the scientist who just wanted to make things better and was punished for putting one foot just an inch over the line. It doesn't justify his actions, but rather casts General Pepper in a dubious light - something which I've noticed continues to come up in practically every mission afterwards. Culminating in (spoilers)...

As is so often the case, the truth is somewhere in between.

Pepper knew something was going on at Venom, and sent James, Pepper and Pigma to investigate. However, he didn't know how big the armada was.

And while it wasn't a suicide mission, James sacrificed himself to save Peppy and inform Corneria about the scale of the attack.

However, Andross' attack has only made Pepper more popular, which was probably not his intention,

I don't think I've ever seen Andross depicted as anything other than a videogame villain, I am most excited to see his view of the conflict from his side of the Lylat system.

I love that the writing actually feels plausible for an officially licensed Star Fox title. I'm not a one of those "NO BAD WORDS" kinda people, but when fans write kids cartoon characters swearing excessively to be more "Mature" it actually has the opposite effect and comes off more edgy, childish and completely out of character ruining the immersion.

That's exactly like Andross. I would never trust him either. When people end up declaring war, and they just put innocent civilians in danger, you know they're no better than terrorists and you can't trust them.

Loved how Andross now has quite the backstory, as well as Herbert being in the story. That detail, man. That one caught me by surprise.

We went from a scratchy look in 2010, to a cleaner gameplay on 2015, to very good story telling in 2020 and now we have voice acting and cinematics that go DEEP on the story, i love it.
