I feel like such an idiot. Tried everything except for trying to pull down the mandrel. Thanks for posing this.

Dremel may be a great tool when it’s understood how to use accessories, but it’s like getting a bachelor’s in physics just trying to clarify the parts needed just to use a different one.
Mine seems to be stripped so the screw mandrel does not hold anything, and the EZ lock mandrel does not stay on either. Instructions from Dremel are inconsistent at best. Some make sense, but then they mention other stuff without saying what collet nut or collet you need, or if you need it at all. It is really quite maddening. Why didn’t they come up with a system that grabs every type of attachment possible? To make us buy more parts? I wish I had the means- I’d start my own company in direct competition with them. They have wasted my time.

the cutting wheel is wobbly when set there

To eliminate the wobble! Set it spinning in the mandrel and with pressurelock pliers and a gold dremel cutting wheel start taking off the blue ring until its about 1.5mm in length. The cut a piece of the ez lok attachment by length at the bottom, just a hair. Use the burrr. The brown piece that is spring loaded should now be sitting at the mandrel when installed. Attachments to mandrel need to be put on now before it’s secured. Hold it down while threading the collet to get a firm seating of surfaces.

PROFIT???

EZ connect is absolute garbage, need to cut something at a slight angle? Too bad. Flops around like crazy unless it’s at a perfect 90 degree angle. What was wrong with the old discs attached with a screw in the middle, absolutely nothing it was cheap and super effective but of course they have to squeeze more money out of their customers with this piece of shit
