Most of the people who're truly devastated by the Vs. Sonic.exe mod being canceled are the longtime fans of Sonic.exe because the mod gave the community much needed publicity and new blood. Now with the death of the mod, most people in the .exe community (myself included) are worried that Sonic.exe will fall back into obscurity and slowly die again.

maybe the mod is cancelled, but that will not prevent the legacy of that mod from continuing, so don't feel sad, maybe a sonic exe mod just as good or better will come in the future, but for now we have to stay positive.

Sonic.exe crying even more blood is both hilarious and sad. Even an announcement like this can break a demon's heart. It's a real shame what happened but I honestly feel it's the better for the devs even though I would've loved to play all of the songs that were gonna be featured scrapped or not. But I'm very thankful that we've gotten a chance to try out the unfinished build. I just hope to see another amazing Sonic.exe mod like this sometime in the future.

Some the reasons why the mod got cancelled are:
1. It had a lot of leaks
2. The team got overwhelmed, and they didn't had a lot of time left to finish the work, or at least couldn't finish it at the time they wanted to
3. The team got some tension from the comments on gamebanana

I’m pretty upset that the mod was cancelled but I am happy for the people working on it to finally have a break. On twitter they said they cancelled it because it wasn’t fun to make anymore, they were having problems, and so many leaks were being produced, so I don’t blame them for stopping.

Honestly by now with how many mods have gotten cancelled either because people got face-meltingly mad someone leaked a thing or because of dumb drama, I feel like the community needs to finally have something set in stone/planned for in case something like this happens so entire mods/weeks/ect. don't just get canned and then left to die or the mod dev goes scorched earth over sodium with whatever happened to get it ended to begin with. Otherwise I'm worried there literally won't be much of a community left at all period by the time the actual FNF team finish their game if everything keeps burning to the ground either due to backstabbing or because someone had what is essentially the weekly twitter drama happen to them.

This is proving that anything good has to come to an end, It's a good thing we have people "completing" the mod with all the songs and sprites and stuff, I was really just mad and heartbroken to see the best mod fade away just like that. The good thing is that a Re-Run Mod of sonic.exe will come out sooner or later (Another whole mod)
