The Pesticide Paradox doesn't occur when you don't use test (check) cases. Testers explore the product, ask questions, revise testing approach, communicate findings to xy & z levels of management. And then continue to learn, evaluate, question and explore the product further.

In my life I have had a natural talent to find bugs. Call it luck or super power, but I always end up triggering the bugs of software. I recall a job where there was the top manager of the company and a corporate software company representative talking wonders. I was assigned to try it and in a matter of seconds of me sitting before the keyboard an error took place. The representative hated me for that. You could see fire in his eyes.
