What is a great way to increase fuel economy?
The Idle, Stop and Go System, available on select Kia models, automatically shuts down the engine when you come to a stop.
Here is how it works:
By default, Idle, Stop and Go, or ISG, is on every time you start your Kia.
The ISG indicator on your instrument cluster will turn yellow, then when active, it will turn green
When you come to a stop, the engine may automatically stop and a green “Auto Stop” indicator is illuminated on the instrument cluster.
When you are ready to go, release the brake pedal and the
engine will start up and you are on your way.
If you wish to deactivate the system, press the ISG Off button.
The light on the button will illuminate.
If you press it again, Idle, Stop and Go will be re-activated.
Just so you are aware, Idle, Stop and Go will not function
under these conditions:
A seat belt is unfastened…
The hood or door is opened…
The current battery charge is inadequate…
The front or rear defroster is operating…
The engine coolant temperature is low…
The outside ambient temperature is either too hot or too cold…
And, if the vehicle is on a steep slope.
In addition, please be aware that under some conditions, the engine will restart automatically, even if the brake pedal is still depressed.
Remember, always drive safe and use caution.
For additional information on the Idle, Stop and Go System, please refer to your owner’s manual, the Features & Function Guide for your vehicle or the Kia Features & Functions Videos YouTube channel.
Thanks for watching.
