2024 Car Index: Top 10 American-Made Vehicles

Discover the top 10 American-made vehicles in the 2024 Car Index! Join us as we delve into the rankings and explore how different factors impact the US economy.

Taking the top spot again is the Tesla Model Y, but rather than a clean sweep, the EV company is sharing the spotlight with Honda, each of which had three vehicles in the top 10 this year.

The complete top 10 list:
Tesla Model Y
Tesla Model S
#tesla Model X

- 51% of vehicles on the list were assembled in the South, followed by 45% in the Midwest and 4% in the West.
- None of the top 10 vehicles were produced at a union plant.
- Lexus TX made the Top 10 with its first appearance on the AMI list, while the Toyota Camry and Jeep Gladiator both jumped 19 spots for a top 10 finish.
- Over half of Americans say they prefer auto brands that are built by union labor.

I own a 1967 Pontiac Catalina four door sedan. Many of the parts that I buy from American companies are made in China. So soon my American made car will have all Chinese components.
