Presidnt Petro Poroshenko signed the law which makes the certificates of IDPs’ from the ATO zone and the Crimea termless, according to the information of “Levyi Berih”. The law was enacted on November 3, but the President vetoed it on November 26 and made some amendments. Verkhovna Rada agreed and enacted the document for the second time on December 25. Poroshenko signed the law on December 6, and then it will come into force.
According to the new law, the IDPs’ certificate is termless. The law abolishes the stamp of the State Migration Service on the reverse side of the certificate. There will be no checkups of IDPs’ residence and no IDPs’ duty to inform the respective bodies about the real place of their residence and to visit the migration service half-yearly.

Those IDPs who had not been able to quit their jobs before they left the ATO zone or the Crimea may submit an application to employment agencies in their new places of residence to terminate the employment contract.

It is fixed in the new law that the information whether the IDP is living in the new place should be presented to social security bodies by state registers; social security agencies may get it exchanging information with other social security bodies, volunteer and other organizations which render help to IDPs.
Slovyansk budget will not be in a festive mood on Christmas. This year the community will have an extra burden of 48 million of expenses, according to Ihor Kovalev, Chief of the city council financial department.

The 78th anniversary of Vasyl Stus, dissident and poet, is marked on January 6. He was born in the Vinnytsya region, but was a student of Donetsk National University (at that time Donetsk Pedagogical Institute) which he graduated from with the Diploma with Honours in 1959. Oleksiy Matsuka, Radio Svoboda journalist and Chairperson of the board of the NGO “Donetsk Institute of Information”, has initiated the appeal to the administration of the University, which is now located in Vinnytsya, to give the University the name of Vasyl Stus.
