5 Days Winter Camping in our Hot Tent - Dutch Oven Pizza & Sticky Buns

This is a fun one! Join us on a 5 day winter camping, hot tent adventure to a small lake in the backcountry. We had some challenges getting there but we eventually settled in to the hot tent for some relaxing winter camping. There was plenty of time to fish for brook trout and make delicious meals in our Dutch oven. This is our favourite way to enjoy the Canadian wilderness in the winter.

It looks like a great trip. Winter snow camping is a great way to get away from the crowds. Here in Central Oregon we get deep snow and snowshoes or nordic skis are essential for snow travel

If the tail is out of the hole, it’s “caught” in my book 👍🏻
Have you ever used a reflector oven with a wood stove in your hot tent?
I’ve never done it camping (hot tent) but, I’ve done it very successfully with the wood stove in my old house. Just put the pizza, or whatever, in the reflector oven and put the open side up against the side of the wood stove.

Some of the best food I've ever made on trip. We will be bringing the dutch oven more often, worth it's weight for the delicious food it makes.

pps. To campers, eating lentils in an enclosed space has some gassy drawbacks.
