Sewing a Medieval Slytherin Dress | Historical Hogwarts

In this video I'm making not one but two kirtles! In the traditional colours of the Slytherin house with beautiful embroidery on it, this dress is my dreams come true! There is just something about long sleeves nothing can beat. And stick around for the reveal, because it's the best I've ever cut yet! I'm really happy with how it came out, I hope you like it too!

I'm a Slytherin. Grew up during the period when Harry Potter books were being released. As an adult, sometimes I look for Slytherin items, because while I don't like snakes, forest green and silver look amazing on me. I even have a beautiful satin cocktail dress that's black with forest green and white/silver roses. I bought it long before I knew I was Slytherin.

Most Slytherin t-shirts I hate the designs of. Maybe they're too simple compared to the other houses, or often people will use bright kelly green, instead of emerald or forest green.

This is simply stunning, the dress, the scenery, the music. Absolutely stunning.

I have a true horror of creatures that slither and hiss. A very close encounter in East Africa aged 11 terrified me and I have yet to recover. Normally, anything with them anywhere and I'm gone. So, the fact I stayed, looking between my fingers admitadly, says so much how I rate your work.

Phoebe cat says your black cat looks just like her. The other 3 hope you have cats just like them too. None of them are such a lovely shade of smokey grey though. And I do know how hard it is when a feline insists on 'helping' you with whatever it is you are doing!

A stunningly beautiful work in excellent quality. While I'm not into the HP world, I appreciate the design process very well. Did you ever considered using hand embroidery on your gowns? While being the most time consuming act ever besides bead embroidery, it would give the last little luxury detail. I do hand embroidery as a self therapy method and this is the most calming thing to do, for me. Especially on real silks, rich cotton velvets and fine leather.
