RKC Kendo Kids - 2021

Our RKC Kendo Kids in action during an in-dojo session on 6 May 2021!

Kendo Kids is an initiative at the Rivonia Kendo Club that encourages children from as young as 6 years old to start their martial arts journey through Kendo!

As part of the practise, the child is encouraged to use their voice while learning to move with the bamboo sword in a predetermined manner. This encourages self-confidence, improves co-ordination, builds strength and stamina and promotes mental discipline.

Some of the benefits include: discipline, self-control, stress relief, confidence-building, social interaction.
