Hey Bulldog was recorded on February 11, 1968, and was released almost a year later on the album Yellow Submarine on January 13, 1969. For me this is the only original song on the album that sounds solid.

This song for me is unique since it has elements that in my opinion have never been done in another song.
It is one of the few songs (or the only one) that
It has a very catchy piano riff (which will be repeated throughout the song), the guitar and bass follow this same riff at the beginning for two more bars after the piano. Subsequently, the piano is only the base with the harmony of the song and some basses in the tonic of the chord and the 5th.

I think this bass line is one of everyone's favorites since it is complex but hypnotizing to listen to, that simply by listening to it you want to play it. In addition to the "solo" he does at the end (2:15), the complexity of this is learning the order of each note. It shows that he was only improvising when he recorded this part, but it is impressive how he puts in so many passing notes that sound great.

GUITAR TONE:
This guitar was recorded plugged into a VOX Conqueror, i think it is a very particular sound that George never had again in any other song (except for Lady Madonna).
For me it was very difficult to get a similar tone with a common amplifier, I had to plug my SG into an interface and work with an amplifier plugin, and then put the recording through several processes (Compressor, equalizer, another compressor, another equalizer, reverb , another compressor and another equalizer) in addition to having the pickup selector in the middle position because it became very very sharp and without punch in the bridge position, btw i think I got a very similar sound.

This recording becomes very special for me because I had already tried this remake since I had the SG, and I finally feel like I got a good result that I hope you like and enjoy.

Guitar covers like these are always helpful when my right speaker has decided to disconnect itself without telling me

I thought George only used the SG for the promo but used the Epiphone casino for the actual recording
