Pearl Harbor, 911 perfect example. 1918 Spanish fly pandemic, COVID 19 pandemic and many others. Then you also get cases of life exactly imitating art, the book The Wreck of the Titan in which an ocean liner in the North Atlantic hits an iceberg and 1, 500 lives are lost. He couldn't easily get it published becsuse the publishers said the story wasn't plausible. Then, 12 years later it happens with The Titanic. Lots of these types of things occur too.

we used to have paper bags in grocery stores, but people started to complain about how many trees were being cut down to produce all the paper products we were using so they decided to start using a lot more plastic. now we use so much plastic that people are complaining about the environmental effects of said plastics and people want to use paper again. in about 15-20 years after paper products are brought back there will be another round of activists claiming, "we're killing too many trees" and some new thing will be pushed (or plastic again but it'll be "safe" this time). history definitely repeats/mirrors itself over time.
