The Q4 Is A Regular Audi That Happens to Be Electric | 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron Review

The biggest advantage to the Q4 e-tron is also its biggest drawback: it looks, drives, and feels just like the rest of the Audi lineup with the exception of its power source. The advantage is it doesn't feel unusual for folks stepping out of a Q3 or Q5, the disadvantage seems to be range, which lags behind most of the competition. The Q4's pricing is well thought out, but... it's a pity for Audi that Tesla just slashed their pricing by up to 25% last week...

Just a comment to your last sentence in the video description. Tesla's aggressive pricing should be celebrated by potential buyers. Puts pressure on manufacturers to lower their margins and puts pressure on dealerships to lower their "mandatory add-ons" and potentially sell cars at or below MSRP.

Thousands less than a Model Y? Wait till the end LOL. This was filmed prior to the price reductions on the Model Y but we *finished** the video after the price reduction so the new pricing is factored into our wrap up!

Hey Alex, just a quick request/suggestion. Your “vehicle length” comparisons (at 1:17) are always the best, but could you also include a ICE mainstream vehicle like a RAV4?

I know the intention here is to compare against EV segment competitors, but it would be helpful just to have the mental reference to something that’s super well-known.

I’ve had my Q4 E-Tron 40 (rwd) for over a year and 15k miles and it’s a fantastic family car. Real world range is between 220 and 270 miles, but with a bit of effort I’ve managed to get it as low as 130 miles and as high as 290 miles (videos on my channel).

We went for the Q4 over the ID4 because we preferred the styling, the HVAC controls and the infotainment/virtual cockpit setup. We also preferred the Q4 to its other MEB based rival the Skoda Enyaq. All three are virtually identical in interior dimensions apart from boot/trunk space.

Price wise (in Scotland )the RWD is significantly cheaper than the Model Y, but after the price drop the AWD 50 no longer has a price advantage. At that price point I’d probably go for the model Y.🤔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Would love for you to do a review of the 2023 Tesla Model Y with the new comfort suspension.

The Q4 e-tron was supposed to have a heat pump, but they are apparently being shipped without one due to “chip shortage”. At least those are the industry reports.

I loved the thought of the Q4 e-tron initially. The price increase, for Audi and now the Tesla price decrease have me rethinking. And I saw an article that stated the Q4 e-tron is losing it's heat pump. That is definitely a must in colder climates.

I’m squarely the target market for the Q4. +60 mile commute, garage for home changing, and hate the spartan interior, edgy no door handle styling, big iPad controls of most EVs. This is the first EV I ever considered, and now I’m on the wait list. 😊

Thanks for reviewing this. Love the way it looks. Not a lot of reviews on this one for some reason. It is just a fancy ID 4.

Why so critical? I’ve been driving the Q4 Enron 50 Quatro. It was the very best I have ever tried. The Q4 50 Quattro will be my electric car

Love mine, you nailed everything I love and not so much love. Range and charging is perfectly adequate for road tripping. And super comfortable

Up here in Canada, a Model Y AWD is 61-62k. A Q4 55 AWD starts at 68.4k. Most are 73-77k.

Is there any negatives with the Q4 etron regarding RWD with ice/snow ?

The one thing that every reviewer I have watched never speaks about is after sales service. I don't know what it is like in the USA but here in Canada Tesla aftersales service is not great at all but service from Audi is over the top fantastic. If you ever get into an accident with a Tesla, well good luck to you and the same goes with any service issues. With the Audi, the experience is 100 times different and you have way less down time. That's why the insurance for an Audi is way lower than a Tesla. We absolutely love our Q4 e-tron 50 Sportback and have zero regrets in buying it.

21:18 I’m curious about the Q4 e-tron, but my ‘21 ID4 Pro S AWD is a great car I can drive now. The HUD and some of the interior bits are the only things that appeal to me instead of my ID4.

I test drove both the ID.4 and Q4 eTron and quite frankly liked the ID.4 entire package more. At the time of the test drive, the Q4 was missing the front camera (blamed on the chip shortages) and now I’m reading they’ll be removing the heat pump in favor of a resistive heater. Sounds like way too many compromises for the price point imho

I appreciate our presenters point about neck snapping acceleration and harsh ride of other EVs.

Was wondering when you were going to review this. I already see them at the local dealer. Usually you get access months ahead of release.
