Moderna COVID Vaccine Gets Full FDA Approval

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted its full approval of the Moderna COVID vaccine. This is the same vaccine people have been getting for months, in use since December 2020 under emergency use authorization. FDA approval comes after more data was gathered and analyzed on things like safety and effectiveness, inspection of manufacturing facilities, and a review of clinical and real-world use. It will be marketed under the name “Spikevax” for prevention of COVID in people ages 18 and older. We explain.
