Minecraft Live 2021: Vote For This Grumpy Salad

Minecraft has published a video about the Glare, the first mob we can vote on at Minecraft Live 2021!

This mob can be found hovering in caves, alerting players to dark areas. They'll make grumpy noises if they find a spot that's spawnable for hostile mobs (which will only spawn in total darkness from Minecraft 1.18 onwards.)
Also it looks like angy lettuce and I love it

1. bdubs doesn't like dark, glare doesn't like dark
2. Bdubs wear moss jacket, glare wears moss hoodie
3.bdubs has big eyes, glare has big eyes
4. Bdubs has a scary smile, flare's smile is hidden under its mask
5. Glare is flying bdubs' head confirmed

My only problem with the glare is that the mechanic could've been given to the bat mob to give it some type of use in the game. Imagine bats always run to the dark where mobs can spawn, and spawn in groups so its more accurate, etc. Missed opportunity for the bat to be updated I think. But can't lie, I love how adorable and grumpy they are lol.

I love how mobs like the glare and new items like the spyglass are basically just like, hey bedrock sorry you don't have access to OptiFine or the debug screen, here's something cool to make up for that.

Hear me out, we should be able to give the glare some torches and it could light a place up itself. It then pesters you for more torches.

Snow golems are actually pretty effective against endermen. Sure they can't kill them, but endermen dodge *all* projectiles, even harmless snowballs. They also almost always teleport *away* from the entity launching the projectile, meaning snow golems can hold off endermen for an absurd amount of time.

Imagine how cool would it be if all the mobs are connected to the new cave biomes, with the Glare being in lush caves and the other 2 for dripstone caves and deep dark

A cute but secretly evil flying bush that lures you deeper and deeper into the caves.
I'm glad they're getting rid of the need for the debug screen, but it's going to be quite slow to light up all the caves with Glare, faster will be to spam torches, but about 1.5 times less often than in versions before 1.18.

As well as the adventure potential, it reminds me of dripleaf, which makes me wonder (hope) that we can stand on it's head, thus being able to make a smooth moving and floating platform in a controlled space!
I agree with what you said about utility mobs, most of the mobs in the game are there to be killed by the player, so I'm glad Mojang is taking a different approach with the Glare and the Warden.

The Glare would be helpful if I was trying to spawn-proof my village, but in a cave, he'd just never be happy, and I'd want him to go away.

If it was added, it would probably spawn in lush caves, since its mossy and bushy, and you could probably tame it with glow berries! (These are my thoughts though).
