The thumbs up moment i feel like isnt him being proud. Its an "its okay" gesture. Encouragement to keep going. "We can fix it" mentality. He knows he is clumsy and cant help it. I used to get mad at him for messing stuff up but honestly i hope they never stop it cause it fits his character to make those kind of mistakes. And to look at you afterwards and give you the thumbs up of "dont worry we will be okay."

What happens here is beautiful. First, you show him where the missing piece was (hes lost without you). He finishes building a cabin (he's built structures with you the whole game, acting as the camp watchman). He bumps it, breaking part of the structure and gives a thumbs up (nod to the multiple times hes dropped trees on people's house, crushing it. Typically he'd give the thumbs up afterwards because his task was completed). After, you both presume to build it back together again.

Best part is you, Virginia, and Kelvin are one big happy family and go off on whatever we do after the end, with Virginia being pregnant and having gone through a surgery to remove her extra limbs.

God. Seeing Kelvin like this is both heartwarming and wrenching at the same time. Me, him and my friends were building shelter like the one he’s building, made our hearts melt. And seeing him in his regression state was something he didn’t deserve in our opinion.

Beat the game just before 1.0 and got all three endings at the time kinda mad how I have to do it all over again
