Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.

I have been a shareholder of Tesla since 2012 and currently own Tesla stock.

Farzad for the most part I agree with you about the interview. Here are my comments about this video:
1. Don’t be too quick to say you are not a journalist. There are (legal) advantages to being a journalist.
2. I am surprised that the BBC did not keep full control of the interview.
3. Yes, the interviewer was not well prepared and was taken to task.
4. Prematurely ending an interview with Elon Musk when Elon agreed to continue longer was a surprise.
5. Cash Flow positive does not necessarily mean a company is profitable. If there are non-cash items (depreciation and amortization) on the income statement a company can still report losses.
6. Your FSD drive was impressive.

This kind of content, talking about something interesting while a car driving itself which is super interesting, is possibly YouTube 🔥

This is a great video format. It feels a bit like lo-fi on the screen with a voiceover of intelligent conversation. Way better than just talking in the studio.

Steady blue line more reassuring than previous wiggly lines.

Farzad, love this format! And as for the interview, I agree that when any reporter gets an hour with a man like Elon Musk, it is incumbent on the
The reporter ti be extremely well prepared. Both with all equipment and questions with evidence or valid information on why this is worth asking. This failure may have an impact on how his employer and his audience views him. It certainly impacted me!
My guess is that Elon had no advance notice if the questions he would be asked. Assuming that to be true, Elon proved again his intelligence and his being quick on his feet!
Just one “reporters” 😁 opinion!

Brit here. The BBC as news outlet was considered very very reputable the world over but over the last 15-20 years or so has become a joke. They earned their badge as a government mouthpiece though in a more nuanced way by simply not tackling either side of politics. This person said this and that person said that with scant regard of any accuracy as to what was said. Journalism lol is not what they do.

It (as most things) boils down to different intents, honest players public and private that report what they know when they know it, as they heard it. They can later find the information was incorrect and usually do correct themselves, the second type are intentionally misleading the public for clicks, propaganda or even to enhance the companies stock price.

Media mirrors naratives, and the culture (and perhaps species) is currently polarized.
And media is a job; they have to connect to an audience.
During a populist era, people tend to get sloppy -- or lazier than usual -- regarding facts and the truth. Because MORE people
are engaged in the larger conversation at such times.

I'm in the UK. The BBC were very well thought of but now are seen by many as the woke enemy. We know the days of great investigative journalism that it was known for are long gone. Those that don't know, we in the UK have to pay yearly around $215 for a tv licence. The BBC pay a private company to check premises that are not recorded as having a licence. The inspectors from that company get a bonus for every premises they can prove watch any live broadcast on their tv. Bailiffs are known to enter premises on occasion and those found to be without a licence can and do end up in court. I believe Elon was savvy enough to research in advance the journalist. The guy, unknown to me, was scruffy, ill prepared and a definite camp lightweight. Who on earth would walk out of an interview with Musk before he did? If though, the BBC had sent one of their big guns then Elon would have been very challenged.

Journalism and integrity used to be synonymous. That feels like it has turned into journalism equals entertainment at all costs in recent years.

Hey Farzad, what version of FSD were you driving on? We really like your channel, btw. Cheers!

To think I pay that reportors wages through my £13.25 TV license payment and he couldn't backs his hate claims. The BBC has to tick all the Woke boxes but doesn't mind sending people to prison when they refuse to pay fines for not having a TV license.

22:36 the driver wanted to get hit so he could have his back fixed out of someone else's insurance. But then he realized it was Tesla and that he'd be recorded. 😆

Elon Musk was not asking for evidence as a defence, or to make the reporter look stupid, he was genuinely asking for input, so he can improve the product.
