Photogrammetry II Course, Chapter: Introduction

This lecture is part of the Photogrammetry II course at BSc level taught by Cyrill Stachniss at the University of Bonn, Germany in the winter term 2015/16.

Slide Information
* The slides have been created by Cyrill Stachniss as part of the photogrammetry and/or robotics courses.
* I tried to acknowledge all people who contributed images or videos. In case I made a mistake or missed someone, please let me know.
* The photogrammetry material heavily relies on the very well written lecture notes by Wolfgang Förstner and the outstanding Photogrammetric Computer Vision book by Förstner & Wrobel.
* Parts of the robotics material, especially the algorithms, stems from the brilliant Probabilistic Robotics book by Thrun, Burgard and Fox.
* Feel free to use the course material, please send me an email to receive the Powerpoint files.

Hello Sir, I want to ask what is close range and videometrics photogrammetry?

As I had read from some journals and videos from youtube, I found that photogrammetry had 2 general types which is Aerial and Terrestrial.

So, Terrestrial photogrammetry is also known as close range photogrammetry. The process of close range photogrammetry is by handled the camera or using tripod to take a multiple images from every point of the object for 3D modelling.

But then, I don't know what is videometrics photogrammetry? Is it by recording a video for measuring the deformation? as what I read, photogrammetry is a process of taking multiple image and I'm not found by recording a video.

And is close range and videometrics photogrammetry is same as terrestrial photogrammetry? It is only expanded title from terrestrial photogrammetry?

Hope you answer me and give me some explanation about this Sir. 😊🙌🏻

Dear Cyrill Stachniss!

Thank you for your class.
I have a question need to help. Can you help me?

I have a camera. I used this camera to record a sequence video. I walked and recorded. Maybe my video have 30 images. And I have measured some control points of my area. So can you guide for me how to obtain exterior and interior orientation of camera. As I know, I need do DLT to obtain Exterior orientation of Camera. And next I use bundle triangulation to obtain interior orientation? Is it right? Please guide for me right steps. Thank you so much!
