In this episode Neil takes us to the incredible lunar landscape of Grime’s Graves in Norfolk where Neolithic miners dug deep underground chasing seams of high-quality flint that was used for making tools and weapons.

I love the description of the antler leaning against the wall underground all through the ages of history. Neil’s turns of phrase paint such a visceral beautiful landscape to listen to. Amazing!

The most beautiful statement, "having taken from the world, you give back, and the world gives again".

I don't usually comment but I always watch you here & on GBNews & have to say what a blessing you are to all of us. You remind us that there are still a few people like yourself who have the rare quality of "common sense". Thank you....

You have to admire the ancient peoples. They worked so hard just to survive.

Thanks Neil. Although I truly do love your videos and have found great comfort knowing you are out there keeping this stuff alive in peoples hearts, I'm having trouble whimsically observing our history when we are under attack from our own govts and can barely feed my family on two jobs.
This land is sick with the terrible crimes of people we put our trust in. When these tyrants are brought to justice and the people are given the whole truth and after we've had time to heal, then I will have peace of spirit enough to look back with a lighter heart.

Know what Neil means by was drawing a bush landscape with some huge boulders in it some years ago here in Sydney Australia, where some time through the drawing process I spontaneously felt a really strong feeling of the energy of the land and its history. It felt like I was being transported back in time to when this land was formed and more. It was an incredibly uplifting experience, so much so that I didn't want to stop drawing; and it was through that experience that I came to understand what the Australian aboriginal term of 'dreaming' meant. I can't help but wonder if Neil has had these kind of experiences.

I enjoyed that podcast immensely Neil, thank you. Now for my confession, I live in Suffolk, not that far from Grimes Graves, and must have driven past them many, many, times. I have not visited them once though, to be honest I am a disabled man, and climbing by ladder down a shaft would be impossible for me, but I would enjoy seeing the "Pock marks" over the landscape. Thank you again for a very interesting and informative podcast, all the best to you.
