Paul McCartney - Distractions (Official Music Video, Remastered)

Music video for 'Distractions' from the album 'Flowers In The Dirt', it has been newly remastred to Full HD.

This song was never released as a single; the video (recreating a recording session) was included in the ‘Put it There’ special, broadcast on the BBC in June 1989, and officially released in December of that same year. In 2017 it was rescued as a “music video”, however the intro and ending were reconstructed using paused scenes from the same video (in ‘Put it There’ we can never see the full entry and apparently it is not available in the MPL archives).

This guy is just FLOWING with genius. To think he started with a blank piece of tape, over 400 times during his career, and ended up with things like this? Dumbfounded. Love the key change at 3:28! Yet another underrated song of Paul's! I wish more people appreciated his songs, especially hidden gems like these produced during his solo career. this song is so beautiful and calming and his soft voice suits the tempo perfectly. Flowers In The Dirt is so underrated, I love every single song on that album.

I actually had "Flowers In The Dirt" in tape format, can you believe it? I still have it, in fact, and I believe I ruined it by playing "Distractions" so many times. I believe I was 15 by then, and I had this dual cassette player where I always kept the two favorite tapes I was listening to at the time. It's been 37 years since this album was launched and just listening to the harmony and the the way the chords move and shift the mood of the song along with the lyrics...how could you ever not like this? He's just amazing.

I remembered when it was released in 1989 my mom just died and me thinking how much should she have loved this one. It was like a "bolero". (Latin american romantic pieces of music). After "I will", which she also loved and sang around the house when we were kids. Oh, I'm forgetting "Honey pie". :9
