This game has a bit of the Cartographers syndrome where using colored pencils helps immensely. I like to "plant" brown seeds and then "grow" in green pencil. It really helps clarify which fields are farther along and differentiates at a glance.

Fleet the dice game is so good. I was wondering how this one would be. I wonder which one the dice tower likes more

I really enjoy Three Sisters as well as Fleet the Dice Game. Also there is a small scoring section below the shed area that is very useful to help score the game 😊

I have played it a few times and it is really good. One of the best roll & write games in my collection.

I wasn't too interested in this when I first heard about it, but Fleet: The Dice Game was a hit with my family, and after seeing this review this looks even better.

Glad to see this get reviewed, Tom. Really enjoying this game. As an avid gardener AND board gamer, I am admittedly the absolute perfect target customer for this but that aside, I think the combo-tastic gameplay is very satisfying. You can win by taking all manner of different paths to victory as well, which is great. After quite a few plays now the two main things I would have critiques on are: 1) When your combos get going it can be easy to lose track of things and you might forget something that you are owed. The bonus actions can lead to some pretty long strings of things comboing in different directions. They give you a notes area on the board to help you keep track of stuff but it can still get a little "messy." 2) The teach is more involved than you might think. I've gotten pretty efficient with it now and I still feel like I need to take a big breath afterward, haha. Other than those two things though, great design and definitely a keeper for my collection.

This is my front runner for favorite game of the year. It hits on all cylinders for me.

There was a goof. Tom said "approved!" but it got a seal of excellence sticker. Pretty sure this is just 'approved'.

Huh, I expected an ‘Excellent’ based on recent hype. Always curious what Tom thinks for this reason which is good imo to have his honest reviews. 👍🏻

For anyone still on the fence about the fact that this game might look overwhelming and have so many choices that its hard to teach. Its really not too confusing once you start playing.

I was able to teach this to my family, elderly parents that dont play many games and they were able to get it after a round of explanations.

They even got excited when the game ended and discussed how they would do things differently mext time to try new strategies.

This was the first game that I actually read the rulebook and taught myself the game. Usually I watch a video, but there weren't really any at the time I got this from Kickstarter. I thought it was very enjoyable! Making a bunch of combos back to back was so fun 😃

The scoring can be recorded in the appropriate section on the provided game pad. No need for a separate score pad

What timing. I'll be receiving a delivery of this very game today! I've really been enjoying another Pinchback and Riddle Roll & Write, Fleet: The Dice Game, so I had to get it.

Love this game… the rules could have use one more review. Specially regarding the pumpkins and flower bonuses. It’s not as clear as it could be.

Really prefer this to Fleet TDG- I felt like there was a little more to coordinate and a little more control. The theme doesn't hurt either. =)

VERY excited for Motor City!!

Good game but I feel the sheets are a bit too busy with too much orange and green so you can miss things on there. Only negative really. Rules were a bit meh too I guess.

I enjoy this game, it's the first roll and write I have ever played. I had the sheets enlarged to A4 and laminated, it's so good. It's a good game to play solo as well.

Thanks, Tom. Immediately seeing this I think of Fleet. My issue is where does roll and write end and a board game begin? Is this too much going on for a roll and write? I feel like I am working on spreadsheets and not playing a game. My family and friends like roll and writes (Quixx, Lost Cities, etc) but this is a bit of overload for them.
