Silk Way Boeing 747-8 [VQ-BWY] Crossing Bravo Bridge Over I-190 at O'Hare Int'l Airport [02.07.2019]
Показать описание
This is a very short video clip that I initially posted on my Instagram story, but given the rarity of videos of an airplane on the Alpha and/or Bravo bridges at ORD, I decided I'd post it here, too.
PLEASE DO NOT try to go to the airport ONLY to catch planes passing over the highway. Stopping on the shoulders is forbidden for non-emergencies. This should only be appreciated when a plane just so happens to be on the bridge as you approach the airport by road. Drive safely and maintain situational awareness!
Due to the wide wingspan of the Boeing 747-8, they must all taxi both North- & Southbound on Taxiway Bravo ( TWY B ), so that they do not hit the light poles or terminal buildings next to the Alpha Taxiway ( TWY A ). Aircraft can taxi on Alpha while there is a B748 on Bravo, but they must be either well ahead of the 748 or well behind it, so as to prevent wingtip collisions, especially another widebody. There's TONS of taxiing restrictions at ORD! It makes things fun!
