In this video, you learn a super simple, easy to play blues fingerstyle piece for acoustic guitar.

Blues, fingerstyle, and acoustic guitar are a great combination. There is nothing quite like hearing someone fingerpick a blues on their own, without needing any backing, sounding full and complete.

In this lesson, I take you through the easiest way to play a solo blues fingerstyle arrangement on acoustic guitar.

First, you learn the standard 12 bar blues chord progression.

Then, I show you a super simple way to create a solo fingerstyle arrangement using this common blues form, open strings, and the pentatonic scale.

You’ll barely play a single chord, yet what you play will sound full and complete in and of itself, without needing anything or anyone else to play along with.

In addition, you also learn the concepts behind the blues arrangement so you can create your own variations and be fingerpicking chorus after chorus of a blues on your acoustic guitar.

Thank you for doing this. I’m having so much fun with this, taking my time. What really stuck with me is when you said people underestimate how long it takes how you have to break it down to one or two steps slow it down, finally, I’m not in a rush and I’m having a blast

I’m going to learn how to play this but I’ll have to practice it at least 1000 times. It’s like drilling a piece of granite brain with a wooden drill

Excellent instruction as always. I was curious about the Guild you are playing but could not find it on their website. It appears to have 16 frets to the body. Which model is it?
