There is a lot that we don't know. Interview, meetings, ceiling, EQ, on and on. By all accounts Scottie Barnes had a higher ceiling than Suggs so, let's judge this in 2, 3, 4 luck to them both!

I find it extremely hilarious that a lot of Raptors fans spent the most of the season rooting for them to tank because Raptors were going to get a superstar and “we’ve seen what Masai can do with a late pick, imagine what he can do with a lottery pick”.. now they’re all crying cause it’s not the guy they wanted.

Lol I have no issue with this pick. I trust Masai and the rest of the front office. They obviously know more than all of us.

He has point guard potential which is crazy at 6’9 and 19 years old.

Raptors already have Freddy, GTJ, Malachi, and possibly Kyle. Barnes is a better fit and has a high upside

My guess on this is masai has always liked larger players with large wingspan to defend everyone. My guess is he thought the raptors had enough 6.3 small forward/ guard type players so he opted for barnes who is 6'8 with 7'3 wingspan. Barnes has shooting issues but i assume they figured they could improve his shooting, so they took the more athletic, bigger player with large wingspan.

As a raptors fan, I am ecstatic for this pickup. Barnes is a major player with extreme upside potential.

People don't realize the potential of Scottie Barnes because many people didn't watch Florida state play but also since he came off the bench (for the most part).. 6'9 point-forward with a 7'3 wingspan. Elite defender. Great passer. And very difficult to stop in the open court.

Trust me as I say this, Barnes will be a top 4 player in this entire draft when we look back in 4-5 years.

Yall keep hating on Freddy. Keep forgetting his Wichita State days as the starting PG already have the PG whenever Klow decides his raptors days are over. Suggs nice but we got our PG and they say Scottie has unlimited potential. In Massai we trust. Just saying though.
