LYRICS

Got this girl she's not quite a women but she tries time and again.
She plays with her baton and she sings all day long and she stands up for her man.
She looks the other way when I do wrong but I know she understands
You've got a bad man on your hands.

She lies under oath for myself or for both she'll take a charge and she'll take another life.
She says "that's the easy part" as we sit in the dark underneath the stars every single night.
And then she lays down and dies for me and I know she understands.
You've got a bad man on your hands.

You've got a bad man but when times got tough I was enough and I never ran.
Now I know your daddy don't approve of me because I do what I want and he does what he can.
You've got a bad man on your hands.

It's not that my daddy don't approve of you yaknow he's just been out all nite.
I laughed and asked "what do I do with you?" I looked into the mirror and saw the flashing lights.
I jumped on your lap and threw my head back and said "drive as fast as you can".
I have a bad man on my hands.

When you gave that bloody gun to me it was still hot yaknow it burned my skin.
The skin you'd dive in when I felt like I can't win and it's "oh I'm breaking down again"
We pulled to the edge of the city and as we both turned around we said
"Til death do us part they'll have to peel us apart when they go to put us in the ground".

You've got a bad man but when times got tough I was enough and I never ran.
Now I know your daddy don't approve of me because I do what I want and he does what he can.
You've got a bad man on your hands.

I've got a bad man but when times got tough he was enough and he never ran.
Now I know my daddy don't approve of you cuz you do what you want and he does what he can.
I've got a bad man on my hands.

I have 30 years under my belt with the same woman I fell in love with when I was as buck wild as they come...this song brings me back to those formative years...in the same breath....this song reminds my of why we still look at each other with the same eyes we had as kids...thank you is all I can say....this cut is a staple that keeps all our wounds sown together...

Dedicated this to someone who's heart is way too pure for this world and has been taken for granted in the worst of ways.

Reminds me of something Kurt Sutter would choose to play on Son's of Anarchy. Loving it!

The man who first shared this song with me played it in his truck while we just drove and drove… the depth at which these lyrics spoke to my soul that night were indescribable… I had to listen again tonight… for him. It’s February 25th… his birthday. And it’s the first one that he won’t be able to celebrate.
I lost my best friend to an act of violence that has forever changed so many lives. Drifter, I know you considered yourself a ‘bad-man’ but you were the very best man I have ever known. I feel like you took a piece of my heart with you when you left us.. you can keep it, it belonged to you anyway whether you knew it or not.
So many laughs, so many tears.. I can’t wrap my head around the thought that I will never see you walk through that door again, or hear the sound of your boots on the stairs. Your voice will always ring in my ears as well as the sound of your laughter. You were one of a kind, truly a man with a heart of pure gold. I will always always love you, completely and unapologetically….
Rest in peace my sweetest friend,
Jeremy “Drifter” Jaques, you will never be forgotten.

I keep coming back here to honor a lost bandmate and true friend Rhett. Thank you for doing the Garza interview. It really would have been worth it to my friend to see it. I know it was for me.

My man turned me to this band by this song. Guess he thinks he a bad man before meeting me lol.
What I have found to love and respect this band because of being related to what went through when on some the hardest streets in the US and the one of the worlds. Thanks
