If this recipe calls for too much sugar, you can feel free to reduce the amount or choose to use an alternative. Experiment with the recipe and I'm sure you'll discover something to your liking. Healthy doesn't always mean low calorie...after all, if I wanted to be super healthy...I probably should just eat a piece of fruit.
I like oatmeal bars, sometimes I don't need a regular, decadent cookie (those are good too though! Can't say no to a classic chocolate-chop cookie!) and oatmeal lets me feel a whole lot fuller than a standard cookie. :) Thank you for this recipe.

Can switch the butter with coconut oil? And brown and reg sugar with coconut sugar?

Could you substitute diced apples instead of raisins or would it be too much liquid from the apples?

So I cut the sugar in half and it came out delicious!! Not as brown but still had a nice crunch on the outside. Definitely my new go to oatmeal bar recipe:)

My Dad loved these. Who cares about the Look up substitutes for sugar or just don't eat them everyday.
