I like O'reilly, I know I'm not suppose to but I do. I don't agree with a lot of his stances, he overtalks people too much - but his arrogance and smugness doesn't bother me either. the older you get you realize that successful people are like that either publicly or behind closed doors.

His coverage of Angela Dawson of Baltimore really earned my respect of him as well. After all the other news outlets forgot about the story, he stayed on it.

Bill started off as one of my least favorite people on the planet and now he's become one of the people I respect the most. Everything he said in this interview was spot on. He doesn't give a shit what people think about him which makes him prone to honesty. Honesty is hard to come by in the media, everyone else seems to just go with the flow.

At 1:45 on this clip they start talking about O'Reilly's concern about young people and their lack of knowledge about history. This is a guy who still believes that science does not know how the tides work. He keeps claiming that The United States was a country founded by Christians, when in fact the Founding Fathers were secular. He still claims that Hitler was an Atheist, when in fact he was a devout Roman Catholic. This is the guy who is worried that young people don't know history? What a joke.

O'Reilly is the closest thing Fox has to fair and balanced. That is not a compliment for Fox.

Is anyone up to the task of giving me an objective, non-partisan explanation for why so many people despise Bill O'Reilly? And please don't go to the sexual harassment stuff, because he was hated long before that ever came out. I mean I'm not in love with the guy, but honestly he's not even that far to the right. Does he have an ego? Sure, as does everyone on TV. He's always come across to me as an opinionated guy who 'generally' tries to give an objective analysis and cover matters that are important to him. Has he been wrong on things? Sure. Though I would imagine that would be true for anyone who gives opinions every day for 20+ years. I don't get what the big deal is.
