Image metadata might not be as exciting as studio lighting, developing film or post production but it should become part of every photographers workflow. In this video Trent explains what image metadata is and how it can be used by photographers. He also revives story time... it's been awhile! He shares a story about how metadata helped protect a client!

I’m using A canon camera and Adobe Bridge software along with photo mechanics. Is there anyway to get cannons in camera ratings to show up in either photo mechanic or Adobe bridge?

FascinatingH How about a photo that has been scanned Trent? I am scanning a huge number of photos from years ago when my wife and me used Kodak chrome transparencies. We often argue who took the photo and I usually lose the argument/discussion : ) If the photo is scanned does it retain the meta data? Many thanks!

I organise and search images with metadata, very powerful.

I would imagine it would be important to store an image with the metadata on a third party cloud given that anyone can edit metadata on the fly. Having a file on you computer that says it was edited two years ago is not necessarily realiable information.
