Sheikh Zayed Road is the main and longest street in Dubai, named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The highway runs through the city along the coast, it is part of the E 11 highway, the largest in the UAE. In Dubai, it bears the name of Sheikh Zayed from the border with Abu Dhabi to Sheikh Rashid Road. The length of the street is 55 km. Prior to expansion in 1993-1998, it was called Defense Road. The red line of the Dubai Metro runs along the street for a considerable length.

The highway has 12 traffic lanes for the most part. Traffic on the highway is paid, all entrances and exits are equipped with scanners that charge cars a fee of 4 dirhams (about $ 1), but not more than 24 dirhams per day.
