2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible: Review

preview_player
Показать описание
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is how the bow-tie brand marches its 'Vette into the modern era. The C8 Corvette ditches the front-engine/rear-drive formula to move that mill into the middle. Is a mid-engine maneuver the way to go? Absolutely. Is the C8 perfect? No... but it's a great starting point for the Corvette's new direction.

Way too many nit - picks on this review. GM has made $300, 000 style and performance available for $70, 000. That is a tremendous achievement that should be applauded.

Decent review but I would have to agree the reviewer was trying hard not to like the car. This is basically a poor man's supercar made by GM no less, if you want more then go buy a Lamborghini or Ferrari or better yet tune the hell out it which is what serious performance heads are going to do to it anyway. For what it is personally I think the new corvette is fantastic.

Sounds like you are finding reasons to not like it.

What's underwhelming is this review

Yup. The car is so bad that people are willing to wait over a year for it.

First, I'll state I own a C8 non-Z51 convertible so yes I'm biased. I passed on the Z51 package primarily because I'll not be tracking the car so saw no need for it. Plus the upcoming Z06 model will be the true track car. My reason for posting on this thread is to point out that 95%+ of all C8 reviews are overall very positive and not anywhere as negative as this Autotrader one. Check them out, judge for yourself and decide who has the correct point of view once you get more comments/comparisons. Check out actual race car driver reviews. Or look at the numerous awards the C8 has won. Or better yet, take a C8 for a spin if you can find one. As someone else posted, there's a reason people are willing to wait a year+ to get a C8 and it's not simply the price.

lmao he's trying too hard to criticize it

He said it performs like a supercar and looks like one and can be had with the Z51 package for under 80k. And called that wild. Then he says he is underwhelmed. Lol.
Next review please.

Hey why did you guys call this a review of the 2021 Corvette when that’s a 2020 GM loaner vehicle?

It's his opinion, vetted by Autotrader, a reliable source of information. That it doesn't pray at the alter of 'Vette? Get over it. Fanboy loyalty > journalist approach here.

Great job Jeff! Appreciate the honesty here. The C8 is a great grand tourer but not a better corvette or a drivers car. Its fast and heavy. Put that dct in the C7 and the performance difference would be that great in a straight line. C8 is amazingly impressive for the money for a mid engine GT. I would go C7 personally

He gave no justification or comparisons for his point of view. Video was a waste of time. Boring.

This channel deserves more viewers and subscribers. I enjoy the comparisons in particular.

Damn tired of being told every buyer should upgrade to the Z51. First mag ride is a must option if you go Z51 so it's a $8000 total cost upgrade (you didn't even get the price of the Z51 right). Second, if only 5% of buyers actually every track their Corvettes, what are you gaining for that $8k. Third, option the Performance Exhuast and you get the same horsepower, torque, and a 10 mph higher top end. Fourth, it is not clear that acceleration is meaningfully faster with the Z51, which Chevy says gives only a 1/10th sec advantage to 60. Fifth, daily driving is what Corvette owners do and the quality of that daily drive is a lot more important than the infinitesimal Z51 performance gains. What a biased review.

Still hate the hideous Camaro rear end. Take a hint from Ferrari & give it round taillights like it had for 60 years.
