They are lying when they say that foreign investors helped to build the Chinese economy.
It is simple to see what happened.
In 78, shortly after Mao died, Deng's Reforms allowed foreign investors into special protected economic zones.
Before that, the Chinese economy was characterized by the Mao Era's abject poverty, injustice, and Death.
So the foreign investors didn't help the Chinese economy, they are 100% responsible for the "Chinese Economic Miracle" and as they flee they are taking the "Miracle" with them.

There is now nothing to prevent China from its inevitable fall back into the Mao Era's abject poverty, injustice, and death, that is all the CCP gang is competent to produce.

When even personal safety is an issue, what foreign company would like to invest in China?

COVID-19. - Foreign expats who were stuck and quarantined for many months or years in tiny apartments swore to never come back to China again. They spread the word to colleague expats and through the media. After the COVID-19, no one foreign expat wanted to be candidate to work in China. Despite great salaries & motivations' packages. Just afraid of being stuck again in a future quarantine or other kind of social troubles. Moreover, knowing that foreign circles have to deal with a hostile and non-inviting government's attitude.

Friendliness to foreigners has always been the key to China's progress and development.

I know many Chinese still saying it is communism brings this economy miracle not foreign companies. I just bursted out laughing 😂😂😂. If that’s the case North Koreans are driving Ferraris.

Do you know North Korea was once wealthier than South Korea? After Korean War, foreign companies developed South Korea. Now South Korea is many times wealthier than North Korea

Chinese politicians and corporate leaders have outsmarted America for over a half century. As a result, our economy is on life support. The slow process of decoupling our economic marriage to China is increasingly more painful for both countries. Unfortunately, not playing by ethical rules and international law has clearly resulted in our two countries becoming chronic adversaries. Hopefully, the animosity between us will not result into a hot war. Fortunately, the Trump administration officials are more vigilant and cautious in dealing with Beijing. We’ve been screwed long enough.

The reason I don't understand this is the inaction and poor decisions by the Chinese government. Even I know what happened to Japan and their fall from major economy to doldrums. What do Chinese people learn in school? The example of what not to do is not only in their school textbooks, but lies right beside them

Very interesting.
First Hong Kong was accelerated into Main Land CCP control. That seemed to have some negative impacts. Hong Kong was a major business and tourism hub. What about now? Do you know anyone planning a trip to Main Land China or Hong Kong?

Now I am not a racist. We can debate causes. But let's say that we can compare Hong Kong to another City in the region dominated by the Han Chinese Singapore. How's Singapore doing? Still working on modernizing their water system? Still improving their city scape with very cool hotels and properties? Do you know anyone planning a trip to Singapore?

Or another Taipei, on Taiwan. That seems to be doing well for now. But it's being artificially protected by the Japanese and Philippine Islands as well as Guam to the East. Seems to be stable, though I hear complaints about high real estate. Welcome to the club of real estate in the post Covid 19 world.

Still regionally, Manila, while not Han or Japanese, seems to be thriving. Even farther West, Jakarta, still in the overall region. Seems to have a geographic problem. May have to move to higher ground? That's unfortunate.

Way down south is Sidney. How is Sidney doing?

So, that comment about Chinese companies not treating their own people as well as the foreign businesses seems to correlate with China not treating The Philippines well either. And there may be a connection with the recent influx of Main Land Chinese trying to get into America. But everyone is trying to get into America, except the Democrats.
